All our campaigns have been evaluated (formal, independent evaluations) and proven effective in changing opinions, attitudes and behavior of our target audiences. Our campaigns are among a small percentage in the nation that have been evaluated andoven effective in childhood obesity prevention.
Edgy and Confrontational
Our campaigns are edgy and compelling, much like the national 'truth' campaign has been for teen anti-tobacco efforts. Our campaigns for kids are ‘age-appropriate-edgy’. Our campaign for parents have ‘edge’ by being the first in the nation to address parental accountability. And our counter-marketing campaigns are very confrontational and directed toward the deceptive marketing practices of the fast food, soft drink and junk food companies, and TV networks and video game companies.
Peer-to-peer communication
d&a’s Kidz Bite Back campaign is the only elementary school-based grassroots effort in the nation informed by counter-marketing campaigns. We make kids smarter than most adults on the topic, and then turn the loose to spread the word to their peers – which is much more effective than adults preaching or lecturing to kids.
Research-based
We're doing primary research - focus groups, surveys, exploratory interviews - as well as analyzing the latest and greatest thinking on obesity. We are a top national resource on the Big Fat Industries, Couch Potato Companies and the obesity epidemic.
Nationally innovative
We’re doing what no one else has: kid grassroots campaigns against fast food, soft drink and junk food companies; and holding parents accountable for their children being overweight or obese.
